Fantasy Flight was once again a great success!
The League’s Fantasy Flight holiday event to benefit underprivileged children was held on Saturday, Dec. 13th at the Colorado Springs airport!
More than 50 children, sponsored by the Community Partnership for Child Development, Partners in Housing and Ft. Carson, experienced a first-ever airplane ride and took a Fantasy Flight courtesy of the Junior League and SkyWest Airlines. They were given a boarding pass at the Colorado Springs airport for Flight One, direct to the North Pole. After a quick flight, they landed at the North Pole – complete with Santa, music, food, crafts and gifts. The children were thrilled to experience a flight and enjoyed the party at the North Pole, but Santa’s helicopter arrival was the highlight of the day for many…parents and children alike!
This was an amazing event – and your help made it happen. Thanks to all the League members who provided gifts and helped with the event! Thanks as well to the Colorado Springs Airport and their fabulous PR and event staff, Hewlett-Packard for their loan of color photo printers for the event, Garden of the Gods Gourmet for providing the dinner buffet for the children and their families, Peoples National Bank for the gifts and volunteers, Colorado Vertical Flight for giving Santa a lift in on their helicopter and Sox the Fox from the SkySox. Your donation of time and gifts helped the League make holiday wishes come true for needy children in our community!
