Fantasy Flight
About the Event
The Junior League of Colorado Springs is hosting Fantasy Flight, an annual event bringing the magic of the holidays to underserved children in the Colorado Springs community. This year, Fantasy Flight will provide a memorable holiday experience to children and their families enrolled in the Community Partnership for Child Development (CPCD) Head Start Program, many of whom are foster youth. Families will enjoy dinner, activities, and special guests in an outdoor winter wonderland followed by a visit and presents from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 12th, 2020 at CPCD.
Through its Head Start Program, CPCD provides free educational, physical, and behavioral health and nutritional services for children 3 to 5 years of age. CPCD currently serves 962 local children and their families through the Head Start Program. Children enrolled in CPCD programs live below the poverty level, have an identified special need, or have a home situation that puts them at risk for school failure. Parents and caregivers receive education and support to assist them in fulfilling their role as their child’s first and best teacher. CPCD involves the entire family in the child’s development and empowers parents to be advocates for their children’s education.
